Grants.gov - Grants.gov simplifies the grants management process and creates a centralized, online grants process for over 900 grant programs from the 26 Federal grant-making agencies. This site allows organizations to electronically find and apply for competitive grant opportunities from all Federal grant-making agencies. You can also register to receive email notifications of new grant postings. Register for E-Mail Notification of Grant Opportunities

Federal Register - The Federal Register is the official daily publication for rules, proposed rules, and notices of Federal agencies and organizations, including grant notices and modifications.

Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) - The online Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance provides current and archival grant information for all Federal programs available to State and local governments; federally -recognized Indian tribal governments; Territories (and possessions) of the United States; domestic public, quasi-public, and private profit and nonprofit organizations and institutions; specialized groups; and individuals.

Foundations and Other Resources

The Foundation Center - The Foundation Center - a great resource for information about U.S. philanthropy - provides education and training on the grantseeking process, conducts and facilitates research on trends in the field, and provides a number of products for grantseekers. There is also information about how to write grants. You can access 990 PF IRS tax records to see what a given foundation has funded in the past, for any foundation, by going to "finding funders" and clicking on "Foundation finder" or the "990 PF search" section of their website.

Philanthropy News Digest, RFP Bulletin: A service of the Foundation Center - New foundation opportunities (requests for proposal) are posted, at no charge, on the Foundation Center Web site, with specific categories highlighted in the site's left-hand column.

Iowa Grants Guide (IGG) - The Iowa Grants Guide provides information for and about Iowa's nonprofit resources, including profiles of foundations, trusts, and corporate philanthropic organizations; provides links to funders' web sites and/or application materials, when available; and provides users with a Tool Kit section with information on writing grants, preparing budgets, and fund-raising.

Iowa Foundation DataBook - The Iowa Foundation DataBook is available for purchase through this site. It's a directory of all Iowa foundations, listing contact information, total assets and grantmaking history.
